Can we Redirect Royal Mail letters, so it comes to the Post office, where we can go and collect it?

Options
Mail, letters, invoices, bank statements etc come to an address which is now longer stayed in due to a covid situation (bit of a long topic to get into)

Basically want to know with Royal Mail redirection service, do they do the service where all these letters can be redirected /kept at one of their Royal mail branches/depot, where we can go to get them,  with showing ID to them.

Rather than redirecting to a New address, do Royal Mail offer the service to redirect mail to their post branches/depots where we can physically go and collect it?

otherwise What service options does their 'redirection' service offer?

I suspect you'll need a combination of both a redirection (from your old address) and a post restante. It says to set up a post restante you need to go into the post office from which you want to pick up your mail, so in your shoes I'd start by going in ther and asking whether it's possible and how to set it up.

According to this link -  https://www.royalmail.com/d8/help/redirection  - yes. You can redirect to a PO Box for up to four years. There's a lot of info in that link all about redirection. Hope it helps.

My friend and her partner use this service when they go away as they normally (obviously not during coronavirus times) go away for 6 months at a time each year.

Also, it says you can apply online, so you don't have to go in to the PO to set it up.

No experience of this but have you read the link that was provided?

It says  "It's easy to apply for a Keepsafe online and we will get you set up as soon as we can, though it could take as long as five days."

Note also that it just means you get one catch-up delivery at the end, you can't pop in and collect stuff in the interim (or at least that's what they say - don't know if in practice the delivery office is any more flexible, as obviously that's where your mail would be sitting).

A PO box should work, you pick up mail from the local delivery office, Rather than posting on  here I would just go to the local post office and ask them
