The OP has sorted the issue anyway so why is it important to know where they were going?

An indicator of whether it is unlikely the holiday would have proceeded and hence they may not have been out of pocket.

But as the OP has already acted, what is the point in knowing whether the holiday would have proceeded or not?

In the initial post the OP had not taken any action but bottled it yesterday and is a bag down as a result of what may have been a precipitous decision.

Thank you for your replies. My nerves couldn’t wait any longer so I contacted Tui and made sure that if I moved the holiday free of charge until a date in 2022 and then had to cancel would the booking have t&c’s for the new date and, therefore, only lose the original deposit. They confirmed that so that is what I have done and only lost the £1,000 deposit. Damage limitation.
Where were you supposed to be travelling to ?
Paphos, Cyprus. My nerves couldn’t wait in the hope they would cancel. I had to take the action to change the dates, cancel and lose the deposit rather than wait for them to cancel, if at all, and solve the issue of the cancellation fees for the 2 not going.

    I feel for you.

If you'd booked with BA you wouldn't even had paid the balance yet and could have cancelled receiving your (probably much lower) deposit back in the form of a voucher for future travel.

But they had taken action by the time you asked where they were going.

It seems like you just wanted to big up BA (again).

    The OP booked with TUI.
    Not BA.

    Yes. Compared with many.

As the OP already booked with TUI your comments about BA have no relevance.

It might have relevance to someone reading the thread and realising there are better options than TUI if you run into any problems with your booking particularly regarding changes/cancellation.

    Yes, it might have relevance.

But you could have simply stated that point generically instead of asking where the OP was travelling to as it was too late for the OP who had booked with TUI and not BA.
