As far as I know they only update it once a day. I could be wrong though so wait for a few more answers to make sure. I believe it is around 6am they update it and then it won’t update until 6am the following day 

cheers buddy. this thread more help than hmrc themselves. advisors seem to tell you anything to get you off the phone. to be fair i only submitted the repayment last week when it became available in my balance but an advisor told me on friday i would have funds in my acocunt by today, when speaking on the chat they said the estimated date for issue would be yesterday but apparently that was a load of nonsense, another advisor said when it changes from repayment pending to issued thats when money has been cleared in my account, i called her out on it saying sure bacs takes 3 working days so surely unless you use faster payments that wouldn't be the case she put me on hold and came back and said i was correct once it updates to issued it would be in bank within 3-5 days. i know lot of people been waiting longer on here so im not expecting to see it until end of june but at least i know just to check once in morning and i can stop torturing myself the rest of the day.

Most of us still waiting submitted our returns on the 6th of April mate, just a waiting game we're all playing now.

Oh right yeah after 4 weeks I spoke to someone on the webchat and he said be in by 25th but I’m not holding my breath this is only my second ever return so I’m new to it all

Neither has mine.. I’m not too hopefully about any of it to be honest. I just want to be contacted regarding the checks and told what I need to do in order to get it sorted
