Hi there I wonder if anyone can give me some advice please. At the beginning of the year I bought my car from Arnold Clark and after a few days noticed that the paint in the front of the car had started to blister and split (the car is three years old) I pointed this out and a repair booked in, unfortunately for the last 8 weeks I've been working away and now that I am back I have seen more blistering of the paint work in the car and a really bad paint job done from the last repair that was done while I was away. Can anyone tell me where I stand as the original issue of the paint hasn't been fixed and now I have two different shades of grey on my car?

So do you have 2 concerns ie blistering and 2 shades?Darrenkenny8686 said:Hi there I wonder if anyone can give me some advice please. metallic grey can be difficult to match on a older car.
did they try to repair the original blistering?
Either way tell them you are not happy and see what they say and take it from there as you've had the car for 8 weeks ie usual rejection is 30 days but you are in 8 weeks -
Best bet is see what they say, email them now and follow up with phone call when they are open.0 -
The two concerns where the blistering and usb charger not working. They tried to repair the blistering at one end, which is fine. but what I mean is that when they done the job, the didn’t cover the car properly so now I have excess spray over the bonnet showing two shades. Also the back end of the car has plenty of blistering that hasn’t been touched, like I said the car is three years old so I wouldn’t expect to see this kind of blistering unless there has been some poor respray after damage.

It's entirely possible that the bumpers have had a bit of cosmetic refurb for parking scars after three years, yep.Darrenkenny8686 said:like I said the car is three years old so I wouldn’t expect to see this kind of blistering unless there has been some poor respray after damage.
This does not necessarily mean the supplier lied to you...
Perhaps it was done before the car was delivered to the original owner, brand new? Plenty of cars have transit damage between factory and road.
Perhaps it was done before the previous user returned it to the finance company...?
There's absolutely no central record of bodywork repair - even collision repair. The only time damage is recorded is when it's bad enough for insurance to write the car off, rather than repair it.
So you've got a bit of cosmetic repair needed on the bumpers. They've tried once on the front, and it's not worked. That is, theoretically, sufficient for you to reject the vehicle should you want to. Do you?0 -
If they keep patching it up you'll end up with 50 shades of grey3
