Was wondering how many of you swap your car insurance companies, like swapping Energy Suppliers to save a few quid.

Do you not look each year for the best price and switch?

I actually don't know anyone who doesn't do any kind of price check each year when getting insurance, some use a broker but that still involves switching if they find a better deal.

    Almost every year.
Can only think of one occasion in the past few years where the existing company was competitive in their renewal offer.
Switched this year after existing provider wanted £270.00, got it elsewhere for £200.00

I often wonder who still uses insurance brokers.
They're like travel agents, they're completely irrelevant now.

I did think that but when i tried a couple years ago to get a quote for my grandmother i couldn't beat the insurance broker she goes even after trying all the comparison sites.

I've been with the same insurer for the last 3 years (LV) although I do get a discount for being a Unison member. They are the first company in at least 20 years who didn't hike the renewal price. Last year it went up by about £8. I've since changed cars from a 2009 fiesta to a 2018 peugeot and it went up by £4 even including the admin fee for changing vehicle.

Price and company reputation are equal in my book. Cheap insurance at a company with poor CS and lots of complaints is no good for me, I'd rather pay a bit more for a company that may be useful should I ever need to claim.
