Are covid fines for travelling out of your area legally enforceable in court?

Someone told me that if I did not pay the fine, it will be thrown out of court. He said not one person has been successfully fined in court. However, I cannot find any searches that verify this. Do you know where I can find out that what he said is true?
I see holiday makers here from other countries!!

I noticed the same happening last March/April 2020 when the lockdown was much stricter...0

Be little point issuing fines if they weren't legally enforceable. Non payment will result in people finding themselves on the Trust Registry.

Trust Registry is searched when lenders grant credit such as mortgages, loans etc.2 -
Don't listen to 'someone' without hard facts - it may be that a couple of people have managed to appeal fines with valid and genuine reasons - but I imagine the consensus will be - you broke the law - you'll get fined - it'll be enforced.0

I live in a very small, 99% white, holiday destination...these people certainly are not local, Europeans, Oriental, Asian.
Good point...I will start asking them exactly where they are coming from, other parts of UK or abroad...0 -

My father in law lives in an English seaside resort but has a non local (Welsh) accent. I imagine there are many thousands of similar people. He is white though, so probably not as noticeable unless he starts speaking.
I’m surprised holidaymakers from other countries are bothering to come here at the moment. Quite a chore having to quarantine for 10 days in a government approved hotel when they get here.
I think trips outside your local area are now permitted e.g. day trips, but there will always be some qualifications on travel, so might be better to give it another couple of weeks if you can.
How far out of your local area were you planning to travel, and for what reason?27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 51 -
Non payment of fines (fixed penalty notice) will lead to the case being brought before the magistrates court, assuming that the crown does not suddenly decide to withdraw the case - in other words they know they won't win.
There the defendant can plead not guilty and if found guilty by the magistrates appeal to the high court if they believe the magistrates have erred in the application of the law. The CV19 related offenses are summary so there is no right of a jury trial
Here is a good one that the crown would have well advised to drop pretty sharpish before they dug the hole for themselves.

I know of several cases reported where the defendant rejected the FPN then stupidly pleaded guilty at the magistrates court and was given a larger fine that than the original fixed penalty fine.
I'm sure there are cases where the defendant rejected the FPN, pleaded not guilty at the magistrates, was found guilty, given a large fine and left it at that. Unlike Mr Neale above who was determined to stiff the CPP good and proper - on legal aid of course!
If I was the Gov I'd try and push out the difficult awkward cases with the militant defendants into the long grass into a hearing maybe next year. That way by the time the case is heard no one will give a monkeys and there will be no impact today on current regulations or their observance. It would be a disaster for HMG if they started a case which went right up to the appeal court now and their rules were found unlawful in some respect.

I want to travel 11.3 miles to nearest small city. because I like to get away from my tiny town
I saw over 50 people today who likely travelled further then that to get to my town..
will stop and ask more people tomorrow. A couple said they were from elsewhere in the county, how far, I don't know...0
