Mobile phone insurance question – Cover with crack

Can I still buy mobile phone insurance if there is cosmetic damage to phone? I want to cover my son's iPhone when he returns to London later in the month (his last uninsured phone was stolen when he was mugged earlier this year). Currently he's using an 18 month old iPhone 11 and we were going to cover it but just in the last week or two he dropped it and it now has a crack on the back – but still works perfectly. Will any Mobile Phone Insurance company cover this now?

There is no reason why you could not get theft cover but probably not damage cover.

A crack may lead to further/ current damage , loose joints etc .
Any insurance is liable to reject any claim .
