Yes I checked on the advanced option you have suggested and there is a tick against the "Use CTRL + Click to follow hyperlink" option.grumpycrab said:check your're allowed to click links in options...

I occasionally get this problem and I’ve tried myriad times to get to the bottom of it but have never been able to fix it. It’s happened for a number of years now on Word and Excel.
For example, I often save the web address of car ads from Autotrader, or items from Screwfix, on an Excel spreadsheet. I often have a list of perhaps 10 different items all from the same website and more often than not the hyperlinks work perfectly. However, on occasion one, or maybe two, of the links just refuse to play ball.
I’ve probably spent many hours fannying around with this problem but I’m no nearer to a solution,...I’ll watch this thread with interest.

Do you get same problem if you copy and paste link into Excel?0

Maybe the problem is to do with that version of Word.

Certainly works with my Word 2016 but I get a permission error with an old verion on an old PC (2010). Could try a repair with a possibility of losing it altogther.Laz123 said:Maybe the problem is to do with that version of Word.1 -

May be worth trying Repair. This cured an unrelated problem I had with Office (Word and Excel). Not sure what version of Windows you have but in Win10 - Control Panel - Uninstall a Program - right-click on Office program then Change (not Uninstall) then Quick Repair.grumpycrab said:

With flashing cursor somewhere in the body of the hyperlink, right click, "open hyperlink" and hey presto!Works in my Office 2016 word no problem and also LibreOffice for that matter.0

Here's a workaround (or perhaps not :-) Save your 2010 Word document (with all your text and links) as a PDF (File ...Save As...). The links will work in the PDF.1
