My elderly neighbour wants to move the open reach box and cables as he is having an extension. He is currently with sky but BT own the line.
He cane knocking on my dirt rather distressed citing the open reach will only accept alterations request via on line. I’m finding this difficult to accept that they have no alternative way for the elderly. On calling open reach to find a solution I was told- you do it for him. Whilst I have no issue with this it’s not a solution. To make a complaint is impossible - do they purposely make it so difficult that you give up.
any advice on what else I can do or get my neighbour to do please? This has take up most of the day and I would rather he be in a position that he could speak to someone.
ive made a complaint bias resolver you BT but I fear they will simple say- nothing to do with us.
hope this makes sense.

Technically BT own all lines through Openreach. Doesn't matter whether you're with Sky, BT, Plusnet or whoever. BT through Openreach own all the lines. This might be of interest though:

Bear in mind that most of us in our 70's and 80's were the people who actually invented quite a bit of the technology that others now take for granted and that just pressing buttons on a keyboard or prodding at a mobile phone screen, isn't really tecnology as a lot of us "elderlies" had to grapple with in the "olden days before Apple, Android and even Microsoft)Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers8 -
BT have contacted me and said they are not the same company as Open reach and essentially it has nothing to do with them. So who do you complain to? I absolutely dislike these companies. I know some of you have been offended that my neighbour is elderly and is not computer literate and I strongly believe that we should have different communication platforms for those who have difficulty. In no way was I generalising about the elderly and computers. I feel very strongly that such companies have more than one platform to communicate.0
