Sky Mobile rejects 7726 for spam/phishing
With previous providers I have always been able to forward nuisance/phishing texts using 7726. However, I have now discovered that my present provider, Sky Mobile, doesn't seem to want to co-operate with this scheme. When I attempt to foward a text it just comes back as "failed".
Is it worth contacting Ofcom about this, or is the 7726 scheme purely voluntary? If so there doesn't seem too much point to it, as the less scrupulous operators will simply ignore it.
Is there any other way to report texts?

Apparently Sky Mobile does not support short numbers:Has been the case since September 2020, maybe earlier. Apparently still working on it, see above thread. If you have a modern mobile phone and you're on Android, you can mark the messages as spam that way through the Messages app.

I'm not sure of the value of reporting them anyway. The number is probably spoofed so blocking it or reporting it won't do anything. Is there any evidence of this service actually doing anything useful?1
