How long does the port number process take? I transferred my number from Vodafone to Lebara, port in date today. My Vodafone number is no longer working, and it was not ported yet. Lebara says porting can happen anytime from 9am to midnight, but the Vodafone number was disconnected when I woke up at 7 this morning. I was under the impression that the service gap wouldn't be too long... like a matter of minutes, not hours. Thanks.

My latest port in to Lebara, from SMARTY, did complete the following working day. However, I did find, as you have, that the SMARTY service (Vodafone in your case) ceased in the morning but the Lebara service wasn't active, with the ported number, until late afternoon. I did receive a confirmation e-mail from Lebara and it was necessary to restart the phone. I then received a text from them advising the port had been successful!
Hopefully you should see a £10 credit in your Lebara account for porting the number.

Have you tried power off the phone for while?  That can kick the process into action.

Thanks all, I have restarted the phone but I have not kept it powered off. I just hope the port in happens today and there is no issue... I really don't want to lose my number.

If today is the port day you can expect it to be complete by around 5pm usually, the process starts in the early morning but usually seems to complete in parts (incoming calls, outgoing calls, x-net calls etc). If it isn’t successfully competed by around 7pm then you should worry and contact the network. Being from Vodafone to Lebara (which is still on Vodafone) should be a simple port, I wouldn’t expect problems.

Mine (from 3 to Lebara) took around 4 hours.  3 sim stopped working at 11:30 ish.  Calling my 3 number got a 'not recognised'.  Lebara sim stopped working at around 1500-1530 (in another phone).
Swapped sim over and all came good.

I was surprised it took so long as on here reports suggest it's usually much quicker.

Thank you all. The porting was complete just before 5pm and for about 15 minutes there was no service on the SIM. I got £20 credit though. £10 when I bought a monthly plan (with the code FREESIM) and £10 payg credit was added when the port in was complete.

So basically my phone number (the one I ported over) was out of service for almost one day. I think they should make that clear for people.

Excellent, much better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick! Or even just the £10 for porting in.
From a previous encounter with Lebara that £10 carries over, unless used of course.

It's not true, a PAC can be used to port your number to any other provider. Vodafone CS often seem to tell this lie, I wonder if it's ignorance or that they are instructed to say this to customers trying to switch...

If you want to leave Vodafone to Lebara then just Text:Pac to 65075 then you will receive a code, Then all you do is give it to Lebara and your number will go over with-in a day....

Don't give Pac code over the weekend because it takes longer to go through...Monday to Thursday should be fine.
