Where's bronze?   Silver suggests a particular standard.
I wonder if it's like fast-food portions, where there's no "small", just "regular" and "large"?

Think of it from the stocking and ordering PoV. The basic kitchen carcasses are the same. They can get lobbed in regardless.

Then the tailored bits - worktops, doors - are tailored to customer spec.

Gives them a bit longer if the place is unsold whilst being built.

Thanks everyone, seems maybe this is what they do then and the failings have been clearly they haven’t communicated sufficiently. A further conversation to be had with them to see if there’s anything can compromise on with those end panels.

I’ve never bought a new house, so can I ask a very naive question. When I bought a new car, everything was specified in considerable detail. I knew the exact dimensions, colours, and equipment. Is there no similar specification when you buy a house?

If there isn’t, how does the system work? People would be buying a pig in the poke.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

There is yes of course and that is something I’m currently talking through with the sales person because they never went through the actual details line by line. We were shown a sales home and I specifically asked a question, ‘ what is included in the upgrade’ integrated appliances only but units are the same was the answer.

Surely, what the salesman said is unimportant? What does the sale contract say, and is the specification included in the contract?

Correct that’s what I’ve asked for, if it’s in the spec then partly my fault for not asking fully, but definitely didn’t go over it in detail.

If the only issue is a couple of end panels for the kitchen units, it's not a big deal, and you'll know for next time. I personally wouldn't start moving everything to fit in a panel next to the oven unit, but then I like the kitchen as it is. :)

Thanks for all the responses day one, just wanted to put an update in should anyone else find themselves in same situation. DWH wouldn’t purchase the end panels/plinths and were quite clear about that. I had approached the whole thing in a laid back manor and asked if I bought them could they fit.

Yes was the answer, so paid £400 for a solution and DWH fitted great! Looks a whole different place
