Car dealer threatening action

Thank you for updating and I'm glad we have helped. Depending which site the reviews are on, people like that often make more threats and often get people to remove reviews that may be accurate but in their scheme of things they are not.sensiblekate said:
They have a number of bad reviews going back to 2015 or so. There is mention of threatening behaviour, intimidation and even them being reported to trading standards. Thanks for all the comments, I’m feeling much more confident about our case now.justworriedabit said:Which garage was it - you don't need to say but check their reviews as there may be an indication of what happens when they buy or for that matter when they sell. I always judge a review ie negative ones by a pattern.
You've been open and honest not tried to hide anything - they are the professionals and they drove, looked at the car and even if the oil leaked a few minutes later, its their problem as you've sold in good faith - push come to shove, your drive is the tell tale sign, ie no oil marks
Do update again if you have time, if not take care.1 -
Tell him to **** off2

Isnt it nice when a dodgy dealer gets the problems.2

This is a real feel-good post.0

Is irony the right word?
Have you got your old mot and service records? You should have a check list of all service checks, any leaks found should be on there with any other issues.1 -
Yes, MOT was done in January (roughly 8 weeks before trade in) and no mention of an oil leak. Haven’t heard anything more so hoping that’s the end of it, but who knows?!red_eye said:Is irony the right word?

Car is no longer listed on Autotrader (it was up for sale, despite all the problems the dealer said it had). I checked the DVLA and it has been taxed until April ‘22. Hoping this maybe means it has been sold and we will hear no more.1

Taxed until JULY?sensiblekate said:Car is no longer listed on Autotrader (it was up for sale, despite all the problems the dealer said it had). I checked the DVLA and it has been taxed until July ‘22. Hoping this maybe means it has been sold and we will hear no more.
How?
If tax was bought today, it would expire at the end of September this year or March next year...
That apart, taxed almost certainly means that it has been sold, yes.0 -
Sorry, my mistake (now corrected!). It is taxed until April 2022.AdrianC said:
