npower discrimination of disabled person. threatening to take home and claim I owe £35,000

single parent and disabled being made homeless by Npower who claim I owe £35,000…
As a single parent and disabled with a disabled child. I am appalled that Npower suddenly hit me with a £35,000 bill and refused to talk to me about it. I put in several complaints, all ignored. I contacted ombudsmen and they told ombudsmen to not get involved. and worst of all they wont talk to me and are now threatening to steal and  sell my house to get the money back!  there is obviously a problem, yet they wont look into it. They have wrong information and wont put it right. and as a single person in a 3 bed house, I cannot physically run up £35,000 electric bill! I am at my wits end, they know I am disabled and all they did was send the bill in larger text which doesnt help or explain anything. This is discrimination against he disabled and against human rights. And to top it off they have blocked all my attempts to communicate with the CEO or try to approach anyone higher up in the company. Their entire attitude is "You owe us, and we are taking the money one way or the other" there is no care, understanding attempt to help? There is no acknowledgment they could be wrong, they say the meter is fine but wont even check it!  and for a disabled person it just adds to the pain and stress I am already going through and makes things worse. I need some drastic help and fast! can anyone get through to someone higher up in NPOWER?

Energy billing relies on accurate meter readings being provided to the energy supplier. People on this forum can help you to review your energy bills, let's say for the last 12 months and find out where the mistake has happened.
To start with find your energy bills for the last 12 months and look at the meter readings on them, and the calculations for the charges. Was everything OK until suddenly there was a mistake. If you can, scan/photo some of the bills (black out the personal details) and put them on here. People will help you find the mistake and advise about sorting it out.

It's difficult to know where to start with this, but firstly I'd say Npower are an energy company. They are not able to 'steal your property and sell it to get the money back'. If this is definitely what you were told, are you 100% sure the communications from Npower are genuine?

Sounds more like a threat from a dodgy Debt Collection Agency, which might explain why Npower are not communicating with the OP.

With regards to the ombudsman, you need to go through npowers formal complaints procedure first before they will take it on.
    Have you done that?
What wrong information do you believe they are working from?
Over what timescale has the alleged bill been run up?
The details of what they say you owe and why will be on the bill you were sent before debt collectors got involved.
Redact the personal details and put it up on here.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

@skiandu  Please take a deep breath and start from the beginning.

Is this gas . electric or both ?

When did you become a customer of nPower ?   At that time did you give meter readings to them  -  have you the very first bill they sent - give us a copy please - blank out the personal info, account number and MPAN.

Have you been giving them monthly meter readings ?

Please give us a copy of the last bill - blank out the personal info, account number and MPAN.

Since then and now have you been paying anything towards the  cost of the energy used - by  DD, on receipt of bill. ?
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

I'd suggest Shelter and/or Step Change at this point.
I doubt we are going to be able to help resolve this one on the forum.

As said above, Npower would not 'suddenly hit me with a £35,000 bill and refused to talk to me about it.' and they cannot tell the ombudsman to do anything.

Unless we are not getting the whole story it sounds like you are in contact with a scammer.

I suggest you go to the police with all details.

As much as we'd all like to help, i don't think we're going to get much in terms of feedback here. I agree with cardew, sounds like a scammer, but without any real detail other than saying npower won't speak to them I don't think anything is going to progress here.
