Or make their day and send them double what they are asking for!1

Personally I would try phoning them to see if this is automated, do they actually want you to pay this 1p or are they willing to write it off. If they demand payment then as others say you should demand a final statement and hand written letter stating that the account has been fully cleared .... of course if you want to be silly you could also phone 2 weeks after that saying the letter did not arrive please send out another.
I suspect though that they will write it off.I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!1 -
I'm just wondering how people value their time because all the fuss over 1p (or 67p if the OP was being pedantic and sent them a cheque) surely is disproportionate?0

Maybe their accountants spotted the discrepancy0

pity the arrears weren't double that - you could have sat there musing 2p or not 2p that is the question....2

Carphone warehouse once had a months payment outstanding ( approx £20.00) as they were were incapable of taking a direct debit after I had closed itRent12345 said:

OP Joined MSE and has now taken the time to post 3 times about this penny.
It must be important to spend this time and effort on.
It reminds me about about Fifers who the saying goes, if they dropped a penny, it would hit them on the back of the head. When they bent down to pick it up.
