The Range - don't buy anything from their website / ongoing problems

Hi everyone - I want to warn you all about the terrible, ongoing experience I'm having with The Range having received faulty goods from their website. I urge you all not to buy anything from The Range online. They are proving to be the *worst company* I've had to deal with and their lack of customer service is shameful. Having received faulty goods I ordered via their website, I'm still waiting for them to organise a pick up and a refund A MONTH SINCE COMPLAINING. Emails aren't responded to, no one picks up the phone at their 'customer service helpline' (you'll be on hold for more than 30 minutes before giving up) and I've now had to get my local store to intervene (and it sounds like they're being fobbed off too). My local store won't take the goods back as I ordered them online (which seems ridiculous in itself). The reviews for their Head Office is terrible and full of similar complaints. It's gotten so bad we're now getting Trading Standards involved. Shop instore but STAY AWAY FROM THE RANGE ONLINE - you have been warned...

Ordered online a few times and never had a problem must just be your bad luck
  • Ordered online a few times and never had a problem must just be your bad luck
I wish it was just bad luck - it's a big purchase (a mini greenhouse for £165) and two parts are missing. The store won't take it back because it was purchased online. Their customer service team don't pick up the phone or responds to emails and the local store aren't much help (and I'm one of many experiencing the same thing it seems). I just want my money back. I won't get anything from them again. Lesson learnt and learn a lesson from this...
  • Sorry to hear about problems with the Range.  Try using The Resolver tool on this website.  Have used it a number of times and always had a satisfactory outcome.  Good luck.

You should have spent time reading site reviews when it mattered (before the purchase) instead of shopping there and wasting time afterwards to post on here

  • I'll know for next time thanks.
  • Contact citizens advice consumer helpline. I had an issue with The Range before Christmas and they helped me draft a letter. Refund was then issued.

If it was paid on a credit card you could also initiate a S75 claim which might speed things up.

The OP received the item more than a month ago, so what have reviews from the last two weeks got to do with anything? I feel your useless and nasty post is the waste of time here. The OP's post is exactly what this section of the forum is supposed to be used for. Yours on the other hand is the type to put off posters from posting about their experiences.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

There are many 1 star reviews going back a month and over,  the most recent ones were simply the easiest to quote from - It would have been far better to read reviews before purchase than buy from a site with appalling reviews and be surprised when there are service issues
