What small DFW things will you do this week 29/03/21?

3K Posts

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

@DawnW - I'm glad to hear that the woofer is making slow but steady progress
@YORKSHIRELASS - nice to "see" you
Yes, we are sadly depleted. I think I'm finidng that I tend not to turn the computer on just to post (trying to post from phone is hateful) so I just don't. Plus as Dawn said, the days feel so samey.
Very windy here today although mild and sunny. I had washing on the line overnight which the wind hs dried to a lovely billowy softness that I rarely achieve in my laundry so I'm a bit suprised. Just had the shock of my life as well as was *ahem* sitting myself onto the porcelain throne and there was an incredibly loud knock at the door. Raced down to find the postman with a parcel for me. I wasn't expecting anything but discovered that it was the ink cartridge that I'd ordered months ago. I knew it was an outstanding order and I'd been in touch with the company and decided to keep the order open as it wasn't urgent and they were having supply issues.
What things today? Well I am ashamed to say that some frozen prawns went into the bin due to shoddy meal planning on my part. They were defrosted and not eaten. I need to also nip up to the allotment with some bits for the compost heap as they smell a bit funky. OH is teaching today. I need onions so I might take a long walk up to the farm shop and back across the fields again.
Hae a good one all

Happy Birthday @Pernicious
Well we've managed a few productive days and got lots done inclusing deep cleaning kitchen, washer and dryer (and the amount of fluff was unbelievable considering we defluff the filter everytime we use it - made me think what a fire risk it could be). DH also fitted a new handle/lock to one of our bedroom windows so I'm now able to open the window and for a very great price £7ish - I think if we had considered contacting a window company it would have been lots, lots more. Sun shining here, so today I will crack on

I hope you don't mind me asking, but how long did your probate take to be granted? We are still waiting 12 weeks after the registry confirmed the application was received/processed. I found your comment when searching for any info on probate updates on the forum. The registry just keep saying 'any day now'..
Hope that's okay, we are just feeling very lost!
Thanks
