What small DFW things will you do this week 29/03/21?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Morning folks
@DawnW - I'm glad to hear that the woofer is making slow but steady progress
@YORKSHIRELASS - nice to "see" you
Yes, we are sadly depleted. I think I'm finidng that I tend not to turn the computer on just to post (trying to post from phone is hateful) so I just don't. Plus as Dawn said, the days feel so samey.
Very windy here today although mild and sunny. I had washing on the line overnight which the wind hs dried to a lovely billowy softness that I rarely achieve in my laundry so I'm a bit suprised. Just had the shock of my life as well as was *ahem* sitting myself onto the porcelain throne and there was an incredibly loud knock at the door. Raced down to find the postman with a parcel for me. I wasn't expecting anything but discovered that it was the ink cartridge that I'd ordered months ago. I knew it was an outstanding order and I'd been in touch with the company and decided to keep the order open as it wasn't urgent and they were having supply issues.
What things today? Well I am ashamed to say that some frozen prawns went into the bin due to shoddy meal planning on my part. They were defrosted and not eaten. I need to also nip up to the allotment with some bits for the compost heap as they smell a bit funky. OH is teaching today. I need onions so I might take a long walk up to the farm shop and back across the fields again.
Hae a good one all

Morning @carrielovesfanta and all who follow
Happy Birthday @Pernicious
Well we've managed a few productive days and got lots done inclusing deep cleaning kitchen, washer and dryer (and the amount of fluff was unbelievable considering we defluff the filter everytime we use it - made me think what a fire risk it could be). DH also fitted a new handle/lock to one of our bedroom windows so I'm now able to open the window and for a very great price £7ish - I think if we had considered contacting a window company it would have been lots, lots more. Sun shining here, so today I will crack on

Hey all! Sorry I've been away for a bit, lots going on. Probate has come through for the house finally and should be getting paid in 2 weeks time. Not sure how much I'll be getting but I'm going to sit down and see how to tackle everything in the right way. Going to sorted my spare room for the extra fish tank we have, making that number 8.. 😂I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe boards and spending & discounts boards. Hi @jadewest94
I hope you don't mind me asking, but how long did your probate take to be granted? We are still waiting 12 weeks after the registry confirmed the application was received/processed. I found your comment when searching for any info on probate updates on the forum. The registry just keep saying 'any day now'..
Hope that's okay, we are just feeling very lost!
Thanks5 -
aaaages! We sold the house in September and the solicitors messed probate up the first time, so had to redo it all about 4 weeks ago they reapplied for it properly and only now got it! honestly a nightmare! Hopefully you get it soon!eleanorviolet said:Hi @jadewest94

Oh my goodness, that sounds terrible! But sadly is similar to other stories I've heard. Thank you, fingers crossed it doesjadewest94 said:

Afternoon all
Thanks for starting the thread CLF
Pleasant outside now, though it was cold and windy this morning. Short walk this morning, as we took the dog - I carried him (not allowed walks yet) but did put him down on a nice patch of grass to sniff about. Seemed to cheer him up a bit.Usual stuff done, kitchen and bathroom clean up, checked seedlings - I seem to have them everywhere at this time of the year!Brother brought round a ham from the staff shop where he works. They sell items from cases that they quality control check (pick a couple at random from the case then the other contents go to the staff shop where they are sold for pennies). He didn't stay for a cuppa in the garden, as he was on his way to work. So we all had ham for lunch. OH and I had a sandwich and dog had some little bits cut up instead of chicken, which is mostly what he consents to eat since his operation
Ham is really a bit salty for dogs but a little bit won't hurt. Dog is out of his cage when he wants, at times when I can keep an eye on him. He is currently lying on the hearthrug.Spent some time this afternoon listing some new bits on ebay. The shop where I rent my sales unit will, all being well, be allowed to reopen on 12 April, but I will keep going with the ebaying as I have got rid of tonnes of old stock that way. Sold one item today, which luckily fits into an envelope so I will nip down to the post box and post it in a minute, using a free stamp from RM surveys
I have repotted one of the bathroom orchids and thinned a trough of radish seedlings. I will add the thinnings to our salad at dinner time. Nothing much else to report I am afraid!5 -

Afternoon all!
All bills go out Thursday, Council tax back down to £131 instead of the £192 I was paying!
Got a focus group on the 12th for 3 hours £70!
I still don't know how much money I will be getting so I need to try and work a plan on who/what to pay first! Afternoon all
Missing our morning walks - seems a bit pointless as the dog can't go at the moment, but really should make the effort! So today I have / will:Load of washing dried on the lineUsual kitchen / bathroom clean upChecked and watered seedlings indoors and in the mini-greenhouse. OH put another shelf in this for me - he used scrap wood he already had, so nothing spent.Bit of gardening, planted out the last few broad bean plants, also a fennel plant, bit of weeding, transplanted more alpine strawberry runners, watered everything in.Tidied the patio, sat out there in the sunshine for a while with the dog and my book
Posted an ebay item, sold a couple more and listed some other bits and piecesRead meters and entered readings onto energy company's web siteRM surveys stuffNot spent anything
