🙁🙁🙁 Well at least it should stop the comments from your family about your "riches". Best of luck with finding something new, I know it's tough but try to see it as an opportunity 🍀

  • Thanks guys, it really just came out of the blue, for some reason they're rushing it so it turns out this will be my last week of work. It's absolute madness and I just can't see why they're doing it like this. Luckily, I'm not being expected to work my notice and I have some leave accrued that i've not used as well. All of that should give me a nice cushion and I should theoretically be able to continue paying my mortgage without stress for a few months.

Cynical me says well it will save them having to pay for the New Year bank holiday!  They will have taken this into consideration.

So sorry to hear that lolu. It doesn't make any sense that one minute you have a raise and the next you're redundant.

I hope you get a new job soon, but no point in worrying about it until the new year as no one is open! Merry Christmas and a fabulous new year lolu

Thanks for your kind words @killerpeaty @powerspowers @savingholmes @badmemory merry Christmas & happy new year to you all. I managed to get corona over the past few days as well, so i've really had the opportunity to feel sorry for myself.

I have managed to get myself an interview for next year so it's not all bad, everyone has closed for the holidays so not expecting anything till next week. I was paid my outstanding salary & leave, but the taxman has taken a nice chunk out of it. Apparently, I can't claim it back until a month has passed and I need to do the same for my student finance so i'll be eagerly counting that down. *sigh*

I should be happy that the extra pay has allowed me to hit my savings goals for the year, but the uncertainty is really upsetting I hope I can dort myself out soon.
  • Oh no!! As if you need blummin corona as well. Here’s to 2022 starting better than 21 ended
