I cracked the screen on an iPhone I bought a few weeks ago. Not covered under warranty when I called JL
What is the best way to get it fixed.
Many thanks.

Any phone insurance taken out, LSG or similar cover with a bank account? If not you should be able to get it replaced at a local mobile phone repair shop/stall. Shouldn’t be super expensive for ‘just’ a screen replacement.

Getting it repaired through the manufacturer or network will often reset the original warranty, but check first

Do you have home contents insurance?
I got an Android screen fixed that way although I did void the warranty because it wasn't a Samsung official repair partner.

By the time you've paid the excess and lost your no-claims bonus for a couple of years etc, you'd probably be better off paying for the screen and done with.

TBH claiming on home insurance is OK for big outlays like furniture, carpets, water leaks etc and something like total loss of the phone (if its covered) but not for relatively small amounts where the cost of the claim gets outweighed by the penalties of claiming.

Erm I have made several claims on house insurance over 10 years and there was no such things as no claims bonus. In fact the following year of a claim I could easily get home insurance either cheaper or the same.
