Not for the first time, Orbit variable rate is top of dual fuel table, Orbit has a habit of  subsequently hiking variable rates, https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6185956/orbit-energy-29-8-increase-october-1st

Orbit comes up considerably cheaper for me and I’m doubting if I should give them a try and if they raise I will move on.

They did come on the bottom but there aren’t so many complains about them in here compared to Symbio.

That the few customers they do have are complaining about them more than Symbios,is quite alarming.
Symbio scored four stars on bill clarity?,that's odd.
Once nobody had heard of Symbio, one of the biggest threads in this forum, not in a good way sadly.
Doubt there's much in it when scraping the bottom of the barrel though.

Actually had a savings alert from C.E.C just now - based on moving my two (recent) fixed deals to Orbit dual fuel variable. However ,the potential savings (IF Orbit don't increase their variable rates !!) of £98 would be reduced by my ETCs of £66 . Not worth risking for ~ 30 quid, even more so because all the savings appear to come from the very low (unsustainable?) leccy tariff.

Orbit Spring Vari-Save Extra is ending on 1 October and moving to a rate about 60% higher. Lasted over 6 months at a cheap rate which is fair enough. Time to move now.
  • Looking at the last lodged company accounts, Trustpilot ratings are being used as one of the KPIs. Looking at the latest reviews, I sense this might not be the case now.

I had the price increase email from them yesterday. Electricity up 74%, gas up 62%, annual overall bill up 55%. And that’s before the 20% VAT is added!

As you say, it's time to move, but I shall wait until all the other companies show their increases, as I once swapped to a cheaper company only for them to hike their prices to almost exactly the same as all the others. Free market? I think not, it's a distributed monopoly!

I never had a single problem with them, but they suddenly demanded monthly meter readings "to help consumers during these tough times".

I got my increase letter as well, the price increase is crazy and I will be moving on as soon as I find something.
