Had a email from ebay today...

We reviewed this case again and decided to refund £ 30.00 to the buyer.

The refund amount of £ 30.00 will be recovered from you by eBay.

so buyer gets a full refund, keeps the jacket and I also paid a courier to collect the jacket and buyer would not cooperate.

Phone up, be firm and explain to ebay that you never received the jacket back. Keep phoning .

Phoned ebay, they have now closed the case again in my favour, bet the buyer reopens it again.
  • You did the right thing, they're unlikely to get anywhere with another appeal but do keep an eye on it - and your feedback! If you get a negative, phone eBay again to ask for it to be removed.
And most importantly right now, don't forget to block this persons account!

They may have exhausted ebay but hopefully they won't now try Paypal.

This whole thing sounds like an absolute nightmare and I wish you the best of luck dealing with this awful buyer.

I don't think you should have to pay for return postage in the first place as you've done nothing wrong. It is a size 12 jacket on the label and you sold it as a size 12. Different brands and styles run larger or smaller and if there were any doubts it was up to the buyer to contact you for exact measurements. She got exactly what she ordered - a size 12 jacket!

Too many chancers on ebay now, most treat it like a catalogue in that they can return items on a try / return basis

Wow op - you've been through the ringer on this one and wish you all the best. Heard plenty of messed up stories but this one is nuts.

Amazed you initially had the case closed in your favour then eBay 180'ed on it, and this problematical buyer could still cause further issue by going down the PP refund route if a further appeal to eBay is denied.

Obviously there's time and stress involved your end too.

As for the buyer and all their own 'issues' with health.....sorry, but that doesn't wash with me. I've had that card thrown at me a few times and I just roll my eyes. If they are like that, they shouldn't be buying anything online and purchase in store instead knowing it actually fits (or not).
  • Just read the message off eBay. .....

We've reviewed your concerns and have reversed the outcome of the case. You don't need to take any additional action to reimburse eBay for the refund paid to the buyer, and eBay will make no further attempts to seek reimbursement from you.

Seems like ebay have refunded buyer out of their pocket.

That is often the case when ebay have messed up this badly. They realise they refunded buyer wrongly at first and found on appeal for you but then really messed up by refunding the buyer wrongly on a second appeal. Someone somewhere will be having to go,through the refund training again. Buyer should not have received a refund, but often after ebay makes an error they just panic and refund everyone.
