If your pay varied before coronavirus, your furlough was based on the higher of your wage in the equivalent pay period in the previous year, or your average wage in 2019/20. That may account for the difference.

Your employer is not obliged to keep you on furlough, and if they don't need you to work either, you may not receive any pay. Whether that is right depends on what your employment contract says about being paid while not required to work.

    Help with Furlough
    I am a security guard/bouncer for a company. I work in Bristol.
    I have a few questions
From start of Furlough till 7th May I have been getting my furlough pay of around £260-270 a week based on £11ph how ever before covid I was on £15ph. In a week I would bring home £450. Why has the rate changed and why isn't it 80% are my company cheating me.

    2nd question
My furlough stopped on the 30th without warning or any notice. On the 7th I earned £66 for 1 shift 6.5hr at £11ph. Last week I did no shifts so wasn't paid any wage or Furlough.
I thought that in order for me to be off Furlough I would need my hours and pay back. As they can't provide that shouldn't I be on flexible Furlough as in work how many shifts they offer and top up the rest of my pay to match my furlough of £260-£270? At the moment I cant agree to any shifts as I would be worse off financially instead of relying on my £260 a week Furlough. If I get 2 shifts that's around  £130 a week How can they stop my furlough and still not give me my hours and rate back? I would now have to work more hours at a lesser rate which they can't provide until the clubs reopen. Help I'm so confused and I'm beginning to be unable to provide for my family
What kind of contract are you on? How long have you worked for the company?
