Can anyone help. If you are paid a month in arrears. When you start Furlough, when would your first month be paid The same month as your normal pay. If April normal pay from March plus Furlough for April or April Furlough in May and so on until I furloughed ?

Are you paid a wage for a certain number of hours a month or does your pay vary from month to month?0

My pay varies. I have worked for this firm for 10 years
So I have got an average. The corresponding months, 2019 were more than the average to the months that I was on Furlough .0 -
Your pay for any month you were fully furloughed should be the higher of the average of your monthly wages for 2019/20 (up to when furloughed), or the pay in the equivalent pay period last year.
The date you are paid is what counts, not the date you earned it.0 -
Thanks for your.help. What I am asking is I was furloughed April /2020 til 5th August. I received 3months and 5 days Furlough. I asked and was told April was my pay for hours worked in March. So no Furlough due. Can you.help with this I was furloughed for 4 months and 5 days but only paid as above. The problem is I am paid in arrears should I have been paid August for July ?0

I have seen this problem before. It depends on whether they paid furlough in arrears as well. If you were furloughed from 1 April 2020 to 5 August 2020, you should have been paid as follows if they paid furlough in arrears:
- end April 2020, hours worked in March at 100%
- end May 2020, furlough April 80%
- end June 2020, furlough May 80%
- end July 2020, furlough June 2020 80%
- end August 2020, furlough July 2020 80%
- end September 2020, furlough August 2020 5 days 80%, rest of August 100%
- end April 2020, hours worked in March 100% plus furlough April 80%
- end May 2020, furlough May 80%
- end June 2020, furlough June 2020 80%
- end July 2020, furlough July 80%
- end August 2020, 5 days furlough 80%
- end September 2020, rest of August 100%

Can you tell me where the information came from?
eg HMRC0 -
What you are due under your contract of employment for hours worked is the basis for what you should be paid for those hours. HMRC provide detailed guidance to employers regarding furlough calculations:

Help with Furlough
I am a security guard/bouncer for a company. I work in Bristol.
I have a few questions
From start of Furlough till 7th May I have been getting my furlough pay of around £260-270 a week based on £11ph how ever before covid I was on £15ph. In a week I would bring home £450. Why has the rate changed and why isn't it 80% are my company cheating me.
2nd question
My furlough stopped on the 30th without warning or any notice. On the 7th I earned £66 for 1 shift 6.5hr at £11ph. Last week I did no shifts so wasn't paid any wage or Furlough.
I thought that in order for me to be off Furlough I would need my hours and pay back. As they can't provide that shouldn't I be on flexible Furlough as in work how many shifts they offer and top up the rest of my pay to match my furlough of £260-£270? At the moment I cant agree to any shifts as I would be worse off financially instead of relying on my £260 a week Furlough. If I get 2 shifts that's around £130 a week How can they stop my furlough and still not give me my hours and rate back? I would now have to work more hours at a lesser rate which they can't provide until the clubs reopen. Help I'm so confused and I'm beginning to be unable to provide for my family0
