When did you tell them you were moving?  March 25th?  If that's the case and you haven't told them otherwise, it'll go.
In hindsight might have been better to wait until you had started moving, rather than just picking an arbitrary date.

Consider viability of mobile internet service, if you're not going to be there in two weeks pointless waiting.

Did Sky disconnect you because you asked to move or did the new people ask to move their service, not realise they should have requested a date in the future and you've had your line essentially taken over?

Then your ire should be with the new people moving in, not Sky.

There's not a whole lot they can do in 2 weeks so as suggested you'll have to look at getting a mobile broadband solution as a stopgap.

You do not "own" any number.  I presume you've put your home number down as a business contact number for your business?  You can't always take a number with you if you're moving house, particularly if its a landline 01 number and you're moving out of that area.

I'm not following... If you didn't tell Sky to cancel or move your broadband then the reason why it was cut off was because the new people have told their supplier to take over the line, either not giving them the date to do it or the provider hasn't noted the date correctly and has applied to take it over ASAP.

We had an email off sky saying all our services are  being taken over by a different supplier on the 7th of April and have admitted that they shouldnt have disconnected us and there is nothing that can be done as it takes 2 weeks to get reconnected
