How long should a garage take to do an intermediate car service, how much labour hours should you expect to pay

Is 1.5 hours labour reasonable at £48 +vat per hour for a local garage?

Total cost of my intermediate service was £187, this was for oil and filter change using genuine Vauxhall parts for my lifetime warranty.

The main Vauxhall dealer, same service genuine parts, book on-line cost all in £170.

When I google how long an intermediate service should take it is anywhere between 30-45 minutes.

It would appear to me that my local garage although having a cheap labour rate make it up by charging more labour?

I have had a 2010 Yaris done recently for £99 (4L oil) and my wife's 2009 Toyota Corolla Verso for £119 (5.7L oil).
Not really answering the OPs question though.
    Can anyone?
Given no one knows what car it is? What type of dealer they are looking at..
To many variables that can affect the answer. So the above is a good answer from their experience..

Sorry, should have been calling it interim service, which is only an oil and filter change. Car is an Astra, although most cars are gonna take roughly the same amount of time to do this.

My question was how long should a professional car mechanic in a proper equipped workshop take to drain the old oil out and pour in 4.5 litres of new oil?

    Google says 30-45 minutes.

    Is 1 hours labour fair?

Is 1.5 hours taking the p..s.

Well it will also include a visual/physical check of various parts as well.

How much have you been quoted?

If you look at Kwik Fit Oils & filter change is from £49, Interim service is from £74.

It's not just draining the oil though is it? Or at least it shouldn't be if the mechanic is following the service schedule

The garage carries out the MOT test at the same time,so the car gets a good visual and check then.
