Main dealer? Local? What car/how old?Depends loads of factors
  • I have had a 2010 Yaris done recently for £99 (4L oil) and my wife's 2009 Toyota Corolla Verso for £119 (5.7L oil).

Not really answering the OPs question though.

Not very long in a garage environment, probably rounded to an hours labour.

Why don't you take full ownership of this and answer the question then?

Is 1.5 hours labour reasonable at £48 +vat per hour for a local garage?

Wow that is a very cheap labour rate, if they are good keep them.  We are £100 plus vat.

Sounds pretty reasonable to me, I wouldn't balk at that.
  • Given it has been pointed out I didn't answer your question, I have sent a text to my mechanic, he said they charged me pretty much £60 labour for my two services totalling £99 and £119.

    Yes.

Labour rates obviously vary around the country - "nice" urban SE is going to be a lot higher than the rural north.

Hour and a half? Eminently reasonable, depending on what car and on what they count as "intermediate". I'd assume engine oil/filter/pollen filter/air filter/poss spark plugs/brake friction check/poss brake fluid/fault codes/poss aux belts, and a damn good once-over.
