Yes they do, which means the OP was mis-sold the guarantee.

The OP means as he is claiming too early he doesn't expect £106 back but 63/72 of £106, just to explain why he said £90ish

Eh?  You aren't very good at explaining things!

As others have said:  OP bought 6 year (or 72 months) guarantee for £106 back in November 2015.  With only nine of those 72 months now left, if he tries to get a pro-rata refund he will only get back £106 * 9/72 = £13.25  Depending on the exact dates concerned, Richer Sounds may have correctly quoted £12

Why would the OP (or you) expect to get 63/72 back after over five years?

The OP didn't buy a TV.  Did he?

The standard, free 6 yr guarantee is for TVs AND projectors, always has been, so if a salesman got him to pay for the guarantee that wasn't necessary then yes, it was mis-sold.

MY  RS 2016  TV   similar 6 year Extension to the manufacturers warranty to 2021 TV Purchase  .
Neither are Supercare paid for warranties
Memory says the free warranty extension was to members of the RS   VIP club in 2016 .

The OP didn't get it free.
So I said YES and was charged the ~£106 extra.

  • Yeah says on the Thank You booklet "VIP Club FREE for ALL customers to join and you get the following privileges...6 Year Guarantee Included."
Kind of weird how I got charged so much money for something that is meant to be free. Makes no sense.
