Hi everyone. Myself as a applicant has been accepted however countrywide have valued the house @ £25k less than the asking price. Has anoint else has problems like this or any advice? Are all surveyor’s for lenders similar to a each other or have countrywide got a name for lower valuations etc?
    thanks
  • Hi. My valuation was completed 10 days ago and my HSBC application is still showing as 'Application under review'. Should I be concerned?

It happens sometimes. But if you're worried, just call HSBC and ask. I still didn't hear anything from them a week after the valuation, so I called and my offer came through a few hours later.  :D

Hi, I applied for the 5 yr fixed product with HSBC 3 weeks ago and still waiting (valuation done + additional docs requests). Main concern for me, apart from how long its taking - is the interest rate. I applied when the rate was 2.79 and since then HSBC have raised to 3.54. Does anyone have an experience of their products changing while your application was in progress? Which rate will I be getting offered?

Thanks for your response Aimee. After conflicting messages from HSBC, I was advised the valuation report requires transferring from a cancelled application to my existing application (which has been nearly 2 weeks so far). Seems strange why it takes this long to transfer a report to an application!

Crawling the walls here waiting for HSBC to confirm the application. Had a text last week saying Mortgage has been approved subject to satisfactory valuation - we are in Scotland so full home report including mortgage valuation has already been done prior to offer going in. HSBC appointed independent surveyors to get a transcript of the original survey and valuation which was done on Friday ..... and now nothing since. Online still says Application under Review.

I feel your pain! I have just been informed today my case has been referred to senior underwriters (what does that mean exactly?).. My full application went in via MA a full 1 month ago (23rd May).

Finally cracked and called the underwriters rather than the main HSBC number. Really helpful lady went through the account double checking everything and found that my husband hadn't clicked the continue without advice box. He's now done that and offer came through 30 seconds later! Stress over.

Good luck @4thLaw hope you get resolution soon,

    Congrats!!

Didn't realise there was a way to contact the underwriters directly. Do you mind sharing how you did it?

They sent me a text asking me to call them to provide more information about a week after the application went in. The number they provided was 0345-603-0171.  When you get through they ask for your mortage application number and then go through security questions.  They are very helpful and I was through on first attempt today - think it was about a 5 min wait last time.
