Let Alliance cannot see missed payments or defaults when credit checking.

They can only see CCJs, bankruptcies and IVAs so as long as you don’t have those you should be fine from a credit history perspective.
  • Hi No we do not have any of those it says they do a hard search but it's come on our credit search as a soft search. Can I ask how u know they can not see missed payments as they have recently changed the way they reference apparently.

Access to data on credit payment behaviour and defaults is only available to companies that share their data ‘into the pot’, so for any company to see the data they have to supply the data on their customers. The likes of Let Alliance don’t have any data to share, because rental income is not a valid data set. Therefore they cannot see this information.

If you want the full details (which are pretty dull reading) then google SCOR online for the website which outlines these rules for data sharing.
  • Thank u so much for replying and sharing this info very much appreciated 🙂

Ah, in which case, my apologies. That must be a relatively recent development. I’m not quite sure how they have managed to get around the rules with that one.

Have you checked your Transunion file to see what is reported? Your missed payment accounts might not be reported to them.
  • Hi yes we have there not actually missed payments were in an arrangement to pay have been for a.few years not other credit agencies have reported as special arrangement transunion have reported as missed payments since 2015 which is crazy as 6 years with no.paymemts would of meant a ccj or.default which we don't have its just how they report it apparently

In your situation, you should ask them to backdate a default.
  • We passed so all good

@chellew40 can I ask what your credit score was to pass? Similar situation and checked credit karma and literally 10 points off a fair score, worried this may fail me with let alliance checks next week as have two 3 year old defaults
