2. Another PCM PCN from some time ago that was finally delivered to me as a final warning from their lawyers. The letter had an incorrect postcode. Should I create a thread for that one or just wait?If it was giving you 14 days to respond, it's a debt collection letter, just ignore it. If it's giving you 30 days (or if one comes with a 30-day deadline) then please open a new thread. PCM can be litigious, so it will need careful handling if it gets that far!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Definitely, I agree. I won't be contacting the lawyers/debt collectors.Umkomaas said:2. Another PCM PCN from some time ago that was finally delivered to me as a final warning from their lawyers. That said, it was from so long ago that I don't even know what car it could possibly be that was hired at the time. With regards the wrong address, do you reckon I should contact PCM (not the lawyers or debt collectors) to ask why this letter is addressed wrong and that they should have sent the PCN to my correct address as I have not received any PCN from them. They might give an opportunity to start the appeal process again, allowing me to use the same argument that I used to get them to back down this time. Or do you think that is a highly unlikely scenario?0 -

Or do you think that is a highly unlikely scenario? No, not highly unlikely ........ absolutely and completely unlikely! For any charge they are likely to have on you, it is imperative they have the correct address so they don't issue proceedings to an incorrect address with all the mess that will bring.Notify their DPO under GDPR regulations that they should erase any address they have on you and in future, use only < current address >.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I've done some more research and I realised two things.
1. On the PCM website, the PCN that IAS informed me would be cancelled is not cancelled and still gives the option to pay. Should I follow up or just wait?
2. From the lawyers letter from PCM they only had the PCN number with no VRM. Following looking at the PCN that should have been cancelled I thought I'd try inputting the VRM of the vehicle I am currently hiring to see if that would bring up the PCN. If turns out it did. It is from January 2021 somehow although I have not seen any ticket before this lawyer letter. On the bright side it appears that on their portal the link to appeal is still active. Should I send an appeal through? Or should I wait until the other PCN is cancelled first on their system as I will be using the same appeal?0 -

You want to see that.
Check the address the Hire firm have for you - are they passing out an old addresses?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No, the hire firm have not passed an old address. They have my correct address, in fact it's the same vehicle that was hired that PCM correctly sent their other appealed PCN to.Coupon-mad said:From the lawyers letter from PCM they only had the PCN number with no VRM. The address is correct but they but S (for South) in the postcode instead of N (for north) but the rest of the address is correct. The wrong postcode probably meant that it kept getting returned to sender. The one I'd received was in a white envelope with no window for the address. It just had the address written with a marker and had the correct postcode although the letter inside had the wrong postcode.
You think I should go on their appeal portal and submit an appeal as it still gives the option to appeal?1 -
So you reckon I should still appeal on the website as it still gives me the option to appeal despite being months ago?
Also the original PCN that was supposed to be cancelled following the IAS Appeal is still showing as payable on the website.0 -

2. Have PCM written to confirm cancellation? Make sure you hold on very securely to the written IAS decision for at least 6 years. We are starting to see old cases (2015/2016) that have been previously 'cancelled', now being raised as court claims - from memory, not PCM cases, but from a small number of other PPCs who have failed to update their records and have shovelled a whole stack of unpaid charge cases to one of the low-rent legals for robo-processing. Your previous case could be vulnerable to this at some time in the future. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. So I have just appealed through their portal. I used the same template I used in my other appeal that won at IAS and just changed the PCN number. Let's hope for some good news.
I have the email from IAS saying it's been cancelled. I haven't received any letters however regarding this. I'll keep this safe as per your recommendation.
I've also received a yesterday another PCN from PCM. The PCN was issued on 21/05/2021 with the incident being on 05/04/2021.
1) Are they out of time?
2) Do I need to appeal?
3) Should I send the same appeal template I used and do it simultaneously with the one mentioned above or should I wait until I get an answer on that first?0 -

1) No, they are not out of time. They have up to six months to get keeper details from the DVLA and their trade association allows them another month to send a Notice to the Keeper. Anyone can chase anyone else for a debt for as long as they like but are restricted to a six year limit if they want courts to help them.
2) Of course. Just as the NEWBIES thread says.
3) Use the blue text template easily found in the first post of the NEWBIES thread.2
