Flight number change

I have booked a package holiday with jet2holidays,I went with them because they had for an extra cost an earlier flight I the morning rather than an evening flight. They have now cancelled that flight & moved me to the later flight(10.5 hours later).I have contacted them to ask for the price difference back as I paid extra & they are saying I am not entitled to it as it is not over 12 hours.I thought I was entitled to some sort of reimbursement as they have cancelled my original flight which had a different flight number to what they have put me on but they are basically saying tough & we are keeping the difference.Anyone have any idea on if they can legally do this as I cannot find anything on this online?

I suspect they will stick to the 12 hour rule within their booking terms for a Jet2 holiday.
Might it be an idea to approach from a different angle. Assuming you would still like to go, albeit annoyed at the new flight time and apparent ‘loss’ of the original early flight supplement, try a conciliatory approach and ask if they would instead include advance seat selection and the pre bookable Jet2 inflight meals. Might be a gain.
You haven’t mentioned when you are due to go on holiday. I suspect lots of flight changes this year. This one might not be the last. You may even find the timings improve in the next change.0 -
Due to go first week in July.Yes they are sticking to the 12 hour rule however this is a flight cancellation & change to a different flight number which I couldn't find anything on.I am still going(covid travel restrictions dependent)but found it a bit bad that it cost me an extra £200 for what I had paid for & they are just going to keep it.Shame as they will probably lose me as a customer going forward as I am now in a position to be able to afford holidays abroad now that the kids are older.0
