Stick a bit of black tape over the light.

Or simply drive with your eyes closed so you can't see the light.

I've an Autel Maxisys and scrolling through the menus it lists oil service reset for Dacia models of that year.

not a clue but look at...
Given he said this was an issue on 2017+ cars, a 63-plate is not going to be the same kettle of fish...

Try joining the Dacia UK forum, someone will tell you how.

When I had mine there was some free diagnostic software floating around the internet that was a knock off of the Renault/Dacia offical version. I can't remember exactly what it was called but DDT4ALL sounds familiar, I think I have it installed on an old laptop as I used it to turn the dash dial lights on permanently, but mine was a 2017.

  • My local garage reset the service light on my 2015 Dacia Sandero Stepway free of charge and it took two minutes. I don't know what they did but the apprentice mechanic didn't have any machine with him when he did it.

  • Hi, thanks for all the replies.  Just to clarify a few points, this is only a problem on facelift versions 2017+ of the Sandero and Logan models, Its not a question of basic research, it cannot be reset with a pedal combination or by holding down the Trip computer button – the manual even says this how you do it but it doesn’t work.  It can only be done with Renault diagnostic tools or knockoff versions as suggested by Goudy but this is something I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing myself incase I messed something up or bricked an entire car.  As I said in my OP the main problem I have is the fact the car uses a fault warning light and not a normal service light, like a spanner symbol or something similar.  Ordinarily, I would just leave a service light on and not worry but having a fault light on permanently would concern me, hence wanting it out.  But anyway, I found a dealer willing to do it for £60 and a 75 mile round trip, just to reset an oil service light.  The owner’s forum is a depressing read on this issue, some dealers are using the light and misinforming customers that it could constitute an MOT fail, some owners even going to the trouble of paying for diagnostics thinking their car has a fault, only to be told all it needs is an oil change.  Makes you wonder how they get away with this.

Why not just pay to get it serviced? Wouldn't that be cheaper?
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Its already been serviced which was basically an oil and filter change, think they might have changed the pollen/cabin air filter too - Renault wanted between £140 and £180 for the same work, had a local garage do it plus top off fluids/adjust the handbrake etc for less than half of that plus I know the work was actually carried out.  It wasn't until the garage told me they couldn't reset the oil interval I looked into it and found out how difficult it is to do officially.

I have a 2021 alpha romeo guilla and my local garage was able to service the car mechanically but was unable to reset the oil service warning message. After a lot of digging it transpires that this can only be done by a main dealer even though the oil has been changed when serviced.

There appears to be no workaround. I thought that this constraint was illegal. My local garage has all the computer diagnostics but told me that the manufacturers do not release a lot of important stuff to the diagnostic manufacturers. I live nearly 50 miles from the nearest main dealer.
