Did you go through a broker? We have decided to go direct, due to having lost faith in brokers but just found this thread today so now a bit worried. We have our mortage advisor interview tomorrowBarry627 said:Congrats. We also received our offer on the 30th, we applied on the 22nd. So much quicker than we though.0 -
I ve recently applied for a mortgage through independent ma waiting for outcome.
So far we got asked for additional document the next day. The waiting is not easy.. Anyone here on the same boat0 -
I applied on 27may and still waiting for outcome0

That's seems a long time, I had my call with Barclays on the 25th May, full app 26th and decision in the post on the 8th June. So decision in 2 weeks, with a bank holiday in the middle, partner is self employed too.farishah7 said:I applied on 27may and still waiting for outcome
I'd follow up, perhaps they need further info
edit: I went direct with no broker0 -
Applied 19th May, still awaiting offer!
Valuation was 11 days after submission but its' been a slow process since then. A bunch of documentation provided on the 19th May was not uploaded by MB and Barclays came back one by one with a 2-3 days interval in between each one, all of this sorted last Tuesday and advised by MB that it had gone to offer.
Called him back on Friday, surprise surprise this was wrong and Barclays now asking for an 'essential report on essential works' before they can offer. Went direct to the surveyor and as this is a new build and at the time of valuation no kitchen was installed they need confirmation on this. We've confirmed to Barclays (direct to underwriters according to MB) that the house is ready to move into as of now so waiting on what they need surveyor to do.
Personally think the delays are down to MB, amazing how every time I chase something has 'just come into his inbox'.
Looks like we're missing the stamp duty holiday end date
This is a pretty straightforward application as well - both employed, clean credit history 3x income multiple, 90% LTV.0 -

Yeah, I decided to bypass the broker and started harassing Barclays directly. Spoke to them on Friday 26th, the following Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Each time told that they couldn't see what was wrong and they had contacted the underwriters.
I put a complaint in on the Wednesday and then when I called back on the Thursday was told that its likely that each note that had been put on has likely been ignored as it should be the broker dealing with it.
Had the broker call last Friday, offer had been processed the previous evening.
It seems obvious from the dates of the notes that I was given when on the phone that something has gone wrong in the chain of communications somewhere that has led to the mortgage getting stuck and us missing the stamp duty holiday. I'll be putting in a second complaint and compensation claim once we physically have the mortgage funds0 -
I’m a first time buyer working with a broker but I’m increasingly tempted to work around them and contact Barclays directly too.Its an 80% LTV product which passed all the affordability checks on the AiP and using the harsher calculators on their intermediaries site. I also got assurance before applying that the product I chose was compatible with a purchase using the First Home Fund equity share scheme. Barclays are an approved lender for this so it all seemed ok.The application went in at the end of May and four days later they asked for more evidence. They’d based the salary calculation on an older payslip and not the most recent one which included a recent pay rise. More evidence was sent to them but it’s still pending. Last thing I heard from the MB was that they queried the source of the deposit - a combination of Scottish FHF award and cash savings - and said that their system would only allow one of these to be used as the deposit, which makes no sense.
So I’m at six weeks and still no Offer and I’m going to have to go back to the solicitor to see if I can get a new deadline to conclude the missives. For a third time… the MB says the offer should be close but I’m increasingly pessimistic0
