The most important factor for me is ease! (although cost is pretty cose behind...)
I usually spend on average about 5 minutes on breakfasts, 10-15 minutes at lunchtimes and about 30-45 minutes on an evening meal.
How about you guys? I think I am lazy over breakfasts and lunches and usually opt for quick fixes! I don't usually don't even mean to necessarily spend as long on dinners either it just usually works out that way :rotfl:
I don't intend to start a competition or imply righteousness at my answer over anyone elses - I'm just curiousLooking forward to reading your replies x

i think i probably average out the same as you
breakfast is always toast, toasted bagel etc
its what they want before the leave (7.40am)
lunch is a sammige usually, and if its just me, oatcakes & cheese, so even easier
dinner is always cooked from scratch
so sometimes its 45 minutes, but other nights shorter as i cook once eat twice type of thing
spent an hour in there today but made lots of plate pies (about to be frozen for another night) and one in the oven0 -

Yep, taste here too - don't mind spending time on preparing/cooking esp when I can freeze half or even more so other nights I don't have to cook at all, cost is important but the most important thing is that we really enjoy what we are eating0 -
It's a combination of all of the above plus taste enjoyment and nutrition for me.
Sometimes I spend more time parallel cooking so that I can save time another night with one I prepared earlier.
Sometimes I spend more money in order to get better nutrition or taste.
Learning a few recipes that I can do in my sleep when I come home cold wet tired and fed up, means I can do more with ease in less time and so was time well spent. It's going to have to taste goo to be worth the extra effort.
Eating well helps keep my energy levels up so that I can drag my carcass to the supermarket regularly to buy fresh ingredients so that I can make quick, easy, cheap, tasty and nutritious meals.
It's all inter-related for me.0 -
Another for taste here0

Lol - I kind of assumed you wouldn't be cooking something up if it was vile :rotfl:
I know I'm lazy but I wouldn't be whipping cat-food on toast just cos it was quick
Thanks for your replies xLove and compassion to all x0 -
Errrmm...well actually health is my first consideration re a meal.
After that - ease definitely (with a full-time job to do I dont have much spare time available for faffing around...).
Cost is my third consideration.
People are going to differ on their criteria.
If time wasnt a problem - ie I didnt have to do a full-time job - then it would be health, then cost, then ease.
It depends partly on ones lifestyle.0 -
quality for moi , I wont have poor quality in my house, wont give it cupboard space0
