I use my laptop upstairs with TP Link adapters and a ethernet cable connecting the laptop. lately the speed has been very slow I have done several speed checks today some wired and some wireless and I get the slow speed whichever method I use. Some of the download speeds were 6.56,7.68 and 2.05 have just tried again and the download speed was 0.27 and the upload speed was 0.02 which is ridiculous.Have just take the laptop downstairs and connected it to the router and the first download speed I got was 30.45.Can someone suggest what the problem may be and how to resolve it.This is a new problem

What adapters have you got - purely wired or wired + wifi ? Reset the adapters would be a first step and reboot the router.

Thank's molerat I have just noticed that the middle LED on the adapter to which the laptop is connected is not lit but not sure how that would affect things if I am running the laptop wirelessly0

I will do what molerat suggested in the morning and will post the result on here.0

I have now got speeds of 38 mbps which is good the lights on the adapter connected to the router are all on as are the ones on the adapter connected to the laptop so hope it stays like that I also re-booted the router.0

Often its a poor speed test as tester sites are not always reliable .0
