British Gas billing problem

  • This is it in a nutshell #Robin9. My previous supplier, would send a paperbill with a Barcode, and i would pay it in cash.😊 Now for some reason BG send a paperbill without a barcode on it (QR code can't be processed). So I have contacted BG 4x times about this! Each time I was told by the 'Chat' operator 'the new bill would have a barcode'. It which it hasn't got a barcode on it! 🙄
To the other post of using a Bank transfer etc. No can do, as i have recently been made bankcrupt(not yet a year), so again need to pay in cash. When I started with BG, i made it clear this was going to be my payment option.
I was thinking to send a letter & postal order (x like a bank cheque) to BG with account number on it? It is almost like BG want to make it hard for people?

A basic bank account would be the answer.  You'd get a debit card and could use it to pay online.
MSE's top three all accept those with an undischarged bankruptcy.
  • Update, today I received a new bill. This time with a 'payment slip' with a Barcode on it :). So now I am able to pay the amount, this month, not sure if it is a regular thing thou?

Brilliant at least you can pay this bill. Consider opening a basic bank account, they are for everyone who cant open a standard account due to adverse history etc. Least you will then have s as way to pay this and other bills.
