Gas safe register

My plumber recently fitted a new boiler, but then became seriously ill and may no longer even be trading. Hard to tell as he’s no longer answering contacts made. As a result I’m fairly confident that it wasn’t registered with gas safe. Is it possible for a different gas safe registered plumber to visit and inspect and then register it (at a cost obviously). I’m just looking for the best way to get this registered.
Any advice is welcome, thanks.
