How much to spend on a blowtorch for DIY plumbing?

Well done for persevering, and glad it all worked out.
However, it is better not to use isolation valves on central heating pipe work. Most of these valves are not designed for the constant high temperatures of a central heating system, and can eventually start to weep. Not something to worry about right now, but if you have to drain the system in future, it would be a good idea to remove them.1 -
Thanks, the system will need to be drained in future for other work, but not for a little while.
Do you mean all isolation valves? As these ones specified for central heating use?
The good thing is all the pipe work with joints will be behind panelling, not plaster, and I’ve designed an access hatch. So if the worst happens I should be able to sort relatively easily.I’ve also placed conduit/felt sleeping at any point the pipes might touch masonry. All i can do now is keep everything crossed.....0
