CCJ from Excel - trying to clear it.

I've a CCJ registered against me by Excel dated 2017 but relating to a fine in 2011. Long boring story. I've been advised by my mortgage advisor to clear it, but cannot get hold of Excel on the phone and they are not replying to emails litigation@excelparking.co.uk
Any tips? And do they accept an offer to clear or will they want the full amount?

    Why would they take less?
when did you find out about the ccj?
  • I thought they might take less to get it paid rather than nothing and it drop off my file in 3 years.
I knew about the CCJ in 2017. Like I said, long story. I just want to clear it now.

And the third option, once you have awoken them, is for them enforce the Judgment adding the not insignificant costs of doing so.

Or they pay £70 and enforce it directly from your bank account , adding those costs on.

yes, we know you said long story, but I was thinking you might have a shot at set aside. You don't, and so just pay in full.

I think paying it now isn't going to improve your credit rating. I'd be back to that mortgage advisor and very closely question him/her about the affect on your mortgage application of paying this off now. Is he/she aware of the impact of paying the CCJ some years down the track?  Are they presuming this is a recent judgment (within the last month)?

Just test this to destruction because you might just find you've sent the PPC a payment, and your mortgage application is still severely affected/turned down. Try to get any reassurances/promises in writing from him/her.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Thanks Umkomaas.. lots of the lenders want the amount satisfied before lending as a condition, even though it will still stay on my file.
@nosferatu1001 - the problem is I cant get hold of anyone at excel to pay it. My documents are all from BW Legal, who've passed it back to Excel apparently. And Excel arent answering emails, or the phone. I appreciate I can do a bank transfer, but it seems quite risky without contacting them first.

So exactly how can this forum assist you to contact Excel ??

Surely you have already tried all possibilities to get it paid and satisfied ?

    It's so not a parking problem , it's a legal problem
  • I actually find the tone of some of the replies on this website pretty rude. Its unnecessary. No-one is forcing you to reply.

Mse have stated that we cannot give out legal advice , you are asking about a legal topic and how to contact a company , not about a pcn

If we stated the obvious of email , phone and royal mail you would accuse us of being patronising and not reading your post

So I ask you again , how can people here assist you ?  Be specific please , what help do you require ! It's not rude to ask seeing as you have tried the obvious already , so it was pointless telling you those steps so I didn't !

I will tell you that you cannot clear it !!

I won't be replying again though

Paying the solicitor on record for the claim is sufficient.  But as above, not sure how you expect us to assist you paying it off - but remember VCS is a sister company, tried them?
