I only have a normal current account with them, my parents have the advance account and from reading the terms and conditions there is nothing ( accept a minimum monthly pay in) between the advance and current account! Except getting an “I’m am incredibly richer than yoau !” Red and black Advance card! Why are HSBC not offering any rewards for existing customers? Why were such a major world wide bank so reliable on visa offers (which has now ended) rather than using their own funds? I use HSBC as my main bank account but do have nationwide flex plus and virgin account.. is it time to ditch HSBC completely?- HSBC Advance is aimed at those with their main current account relationship not that those are rich..
- NW FlexPlus has extras because you pay for them.
- Virgin because they are trying to build a customer base.

What I was trying to get at is Lloyds a major bank over I believe a years magazine subscription for paying in so much a month ( like hsbc advance) and also cash back on certain shops the co op is one of the main ones I think.Surely Lloyds aren’t that desperate for customers. So why is the only benefit of having your main current account with hsbc a different coloured card? Thanks for everyone’s replies been great to read through them0 -

I have been with HSBC now for a few years, I have never had any issues with them, and although they are closing the local branch and I don't like the HK business, they are an OK bank from my perspective. Since as I young I always wanted an HSBC advance card, I thought if you could get one of those, at least you have made the average salary!0 -

Anyway, the Sberbank gold/n/diamond card (only available to Borat's compatriots sadly) trumps pretty much everything else in terms of pure bling factor...2 -
HSBC have a high market share - they don't need to provide ongoing perks/gimmicks - transparent/unbundled pricing is ok? The switch-in bonus seems to be enough.
