ok , so the words .co.uk do not appear on the unit when it is powered up?  , maybe its just me but the ^^&*dy thing implies that it is autel.co.uk that have supplied it or are supporting it
Do you understand the difference between implication and inference?
and the very thing the guy at the UK website was ranting about , telling me to report that screenshot to trading standfards , god and anyone else that would listen ,,, but yet backtracked very quickly when I replied it had been suplied by one of there (maybe best) customers
I rather suspect that Karnetic are at least as good a customer to Autel China as Sealey are, tbh.

Karnetic import and retail Autel China's high-end pro kit, where a single top-end item will have a wholesale value around the same as an entire pallet of the cheapie consumer kit you bought from Sealey.
let me highlight something you clearly missed
I didn't miss the fact that it doesn't say "UK". Did you?

Genuine question - are you dyslexic?
Your spelling in this thread, combined with your reading of what is and is not written, make me wonder if that might be the root cause of the issue here.

ok its a massive stretch , but funny that wghen you type in what is shown on dsisplay screen it takes you to Autel Co Ltd website
If I type "autel co ltd" into a search engine, the first result is auteltech.com
    https://www.google.com/search?q=autel+co+ltd

...which IS the Autel Co. Ltd website, not the Karnetic Ltd one, which is autel.co.uk
  • yes rather misleading a company that does not exist,  companies house cannot link to that name , but it the list of close match

    KARNETIC LIMITED

    Matching previous names:
    AUTEL INTELLIGENT TECHNOLOGY CO (UK2)

comes up , , if the unit was genuine uk stock why would the manufacturer use false info on the splash screen ?

as you pointed out , it does not say UK, , it says autel co.ltd and as far as i can see there is no website for this , there is however autel china co. ltd which takes you to autel.com

the more you look at this the unit is being discribed as being other than what it is , and has what i would call a alliexpress mentality of false/fake  claims and authentisity , in fact you can see a aliexpress one here , using the same non existant company name/website here,

     https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32805857272.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.4a896fabbWg7aK&algo_pvid=d55bb3c3-a434-4239-9841-53b70151133c&algo_expid=d55bb3c3-a434-4239-9841-53b70151133c-0&btsid=2100bb5116160061316315497e24ca&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_&fbclid=IwAR2mQWSu49c0KDSP9R9V3PuvRHy9iQpx_aqTZGaRWyV8avyPs8NVG7xadDM

I think you just answered my question about dyslexia, if you think "karnetic" is different to "karnetic".

Yes, Karnetic changed their name... in 2015... Your product was manufactured in 2019.

I repeat - the product is not Autel UK (Karnetic) stock, because it's not an Autel product that's amongst the range they import. Sealey import it. Is it genuine Sealey stock? I don't know. But is there any suggestion it isn't?

I'm not sure how many different ways I - or anybody else - can explain the same thing. Your mind is clearly made up. You have 14 days from the product's delivery under DSR to get a full refund for any or no reason.

autel.com do not support this unit , it is clear from autel UK that any unit supplied into uk and sold by an authorised dealer should include items , like "

Don't buy a tool in the UK unless it has a UK Warranty, UK Support Tag and E.U. Support card.

my unit came from an authorised dealer (yes they are authorised by kaenetic)  but did not have the nessesarry support docs that kaenetic suggest thery should have to prove authentisity

perhaps sealey bought direct from aliexpress , the ones there and manufactured by http://autoltech.com/products-show/?id=6&reid=yes
yes , a variation on the autol name  and it would seem many small manufactururs blatently copying and selling on the web

by paying over £200 I was expecting a unit that had full uk back up , support and spares should I need them , I feel the product I have does not meet that criteria , and will be returning ot for full refund
  • just to add , 12 mths warrenty , with full backup and support , the model is ols301   https://www.sealey.co.uk/spare-parts

There are no spare parts for this model number.

We only provide documents for our current models on our website.

however the item is listed as stock https://www.sealey.co.uk/product/5637192426/eobd-code-reader---oil-service-reset-tool

Maybe you're not aware but companies exist around the world. There is no UK in that name and no UK company registration number. What makes you think it is a UK company?
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • I have contacted sealey this morning , regarding a comment made by another autel importer (autel.co.uk) they state in there website that there are a lot of fakes or grey copies (not supported in uk? )  being sold in the uk and that all GENUINE autel products sold in the uk come complete with UK Support Tag and E.U. Support card. , my unit did not , also mentioned was the fact that the units cannot be updated , as they cannot be seen by the program , as they are non genuine (this is one of my faults)
I asked sealey , if after returning the unit for exchange ,the new unit would have
UK Support Tag and E.U. Support card. in order for me to get help and support if needed after the inital 12 mth warrenty with sealey had expired , not a silly question for a piece of electrical equipment that costs over £200 and is used in a garage enviroment

    the answer :

It is unfortunate that we cannot sort this technical issue over the phone/email, but all we can offer is a credit or replacement unit.

I am not fully aware of the agreements in place regarding the product, but they are not from Autel in UK or EU, but from Autel in the far east. As such will not be supported by Autel in the UK.

so the only help and support available (and possably only for the first 12 mths ) would be from sealey , who so far have made a dismal attempt at sorting out a software problem , to remind you , the reply to my tech support question was "As the device cannot be found when linking to the PC there is nothing further we can advise."  which basicly shuts the door on ALL sdupport for this unit

having spoken to the reseller this morning , they were under impression that the units were genuine autel and had full uk eu support , they are arranging collection and refund

I have an AUTEL reader that appears to come out the backdoor from the same factory that made them.
Mine is not a clone or copy its identical in every aspect. Assume the factory decided to make a few extra
    and sell direct.

Back then they even gave links to updates from the genuine company. They soon put a stop to that as the
grey units did not have unique serial numbers etc.

Not linking to the PC have you used the correct port numbers? Sometimes you need to manually select them.

Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...

  • port number ? the suplied lead is usb , not serial or parrallel port
