Keeping your windscreen clear of mist, smudges etc during rain cold weahter

We've looked up rain/mist clearing products. On the insides of the car we have cliamte control and I was not aware that it's best to keep it on at all times inc winter
until Mr Justworriedabit pointed it out to me. A friend of mine works for a major car rental firm and she mentioned something called ducaksback or something like that that really cleared windscreens during rain. I've looked at products they all seen to be expensive.
Anyone suing anything to get a better view during cold/rainy weather?
I've had my wipers changed, car is quiet new very low miles and I've never ran them over frost etc without using a deicer appropriately. Get some expensive one/Bosch and the are what came with the car but during light rain make that screech sound. I'm not sure if its the stuff in the windscreen bottle that cleans the screen. My Mr's car does the same at times even during heavy rain then stops after 10 minutes or so.

Air-con is great at de-misting the inside of the glass, as it dries the air (it's not only used for cooling). Other than that, to keep the outside clear just make sure your wipers are in good condition, and keep the glass clean. I find that grease on the outside of the glass is the most annoying thing, as the wipers then smear. Clean the outside in the normal way, then when it's dry go over it with a rag/paper towel soaked in meths - this is really good at getting rid of grease. You can find any number of "rain repellent" products in the shops - they can work quite well, but really it's far easier (and cheaper) to just keep the glass clean. But you do need to make sure the wiper blades are in good condition.0

I've always had issues with Bosch wipers on my particular car too. The rubber is slightly thicker, in depth, than the OEM wipers so possibly puts more downward pressure on the windscreen and hence the squeaking. I prefer Valeo wipers, which are the OEM brand for my car anyway.
As mentioned, there are plenty of windscreen, rain repellent products, some better than others, personally I've never felt the need.1 -
I use Rain-X on the side windows, but bit of a waste of time on the front and back as it doesn't last long.
I just use a good quality screenwash (Prestone) and good quality wipers (Bosch Aerotwin).
Usually change them every year, they're not expensive (under £20 a pair for most cars online)1 -

That was the word i was looking for "rain repellents." Car has good windscreen wash as main car dealer fills up, wippers hardly used but we changed again and I did wash the screen as i thought as well it could be something on the screen but no difference and same for Mr J.
I'm hoping for something on the cheaper side and if anyone has tried and it worked.0 -
Thanks all I will just read this thread and do some research on items posters mention here. If/when i/we do try I will update but it may not happen for a few weeks but the screeching sound is horrible. (bosh wipers before and now)0

Both cars suffering from it?
Using same wipers and same washing fluid?
If it were me, first step would be new wipers (Bosch don't just make one blade, maybe pay extra for the Aerotwins).
Then I'd change the washer fluid to one that lubes the screen better.0 -
First job whenever I get a new car. Thoroughly wash the windscreen, use a windscreen cleaner, apply three coats of Rainex. Repeat 3-4 times a year. Wipers hardly get used.
