Virgin Charge for Suoerfast Broadband but used BT cables

Options
So...
I have had virgin for years and consistently had dreadful broadband speeds. I was charged for Suoerfast Broadband. Now I am moving bavk to ADSL/Openreach and have discovered that virgin just attached their cables to the BT ones. Does this mean they never gave me superfast broadband and Therefore charged me for a service they didn't provide? If so, is there any recourse for this and how do I go about pursuing it. I have made many many complaints to Virgin previously and they never respond. Any ideas appreciated. Thank you

Virgin Media do provide internet via Openreach cables in areas that aren't wired for Virgin Media cable. They usually state that this is the case in their literature around their contract.

If you were sticking with Virgin Media you may have cause to push them down on their pricing if the poor service is their fault. If you are switching to another Openreach ISP the silver lining is you likely wont have to pay a line reconnection fee.

VM sold off their "Offnet" customers to Daisy Telecom at least 5 or more years ago (I know, I was one!).  They no longer provide any domestic connections using the Openreach infrastructure.

That's useful to know. I don't understand how VM could use Openreach lines then in the OP question.
