Renegotiating After Survey

  • What did the surveyor value the property at in its current condition? My buyers survey scared the wollies out of her about loft ventilation and the conservatory condition. She wanted a £5k reduction, the surveyor valued the house in its present condition at what she was paying. She still was trying it on and I asked her to get a conservatory specialist out. Turns out it was fine and didn't need any work, the surveyor described the conservatory completely wrong. No renegotiation took place and we completed.

Your options are to proceed and get the work done or try and re-negotiate but I doubt you will get the full amount you want as its a finger in the air number.

No harm in negotiating the price down a bit, they will hit the same issues whoever tries to buy it.
