We have a talk talk broadband package with landline. TT have emailed to say:
“We're making changes to the way we charge for calls. From 1st May... Call rates for UK and International calls will go up by 3p per minute”
Does this mean we can leave our contract penalty free? We don’t have a specific call package, just broadband and pay as you go calls.

Confused you say landline increase . then say its calls .no you cannot leave penalty free under ofcom rules .0

Thanks,
Sorry, was trying to differentiate between TT landline call cost and a TT mobile call cost, turns out I confused things more!
So, it's only if the cost of the broadband increases in the contract that the ofcom rules apply, not if the cost of calls increases?0 -
Depends upon the contract .

I have my landline and internet contract with Talk Talk.
In October I signed up with them again for £19.95 a month and I (thought) had fixed it for 2 years.
Now today I get an email saying it is increasing by £2 a month from 15th of April, and will increase in 15th April 2022 by the rate of inflation + 3.7%.
I phoned customer service and explained that I had a 2 year contract and was told it does not matter as they have given me 30 days to move provider.
Said the price rise was due to the increase in broadband usage during the pandemic.
I have made a complaint but been told it will make no difference.
Really angry, as I just cant see how they can increase the price TWICE over the period of your contract.0 -
I would say the Talk Talk deals listed on MSE website are now out of date.
All plans will increase on a monthly basis from April 2022 by the rate of inflation + 3.7%.
Will other providers now follow suit?0 -
BT cpi + long time in action this is the second year applied .Fixed contract yes but you agree to possible price increases when signing up to the Terms of that contract .0
