Subscribed to 18 month contract of Youview in November 2020. Received an email notification at the weekend 13th March 2021 regarding the end of Line Saver Rental. Phoned Plusnet customer services and during my conversation asked about the terms of my contract, it's duration, cancellation etc. In these discussions, I queried why several TV channels had been cancelled. I was told that Plusnet are to terminate their Youview Television service. This I have confirmed from their website FAQs. Plusnet have stated that no contracts have been renewed after the 7th February 2021 !
Therefore, do I have any rights to get "out" of this Youview TV broadband contract that will terminate in April 2022 ? If I stay I get hit by the end of line rental saver, the June CPI increase and obviously the demise of more TV channels and finally the service. I have been told there is a cancellation fee of £30 ! Therefore, do I have any grounds to get out of this contact penalty fee in order to look for another TV service provider ?

Yeah that's been the case since January for YouView and February for Line Rental Saver:https://www.choose.co.uk/news/2021/plusnet-stop-taking-orders-youview-tv/ - "Existing customers can keep their subscriptions, but will be unable to recontract once their minimum term subscription is up - Any customers who do manage to sign up for Plusnet's YouView before 19 January will only be able to access it for the length of their contracted 18-month term" and https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2021/02/plusnet-line-rental-saver-axe-price-hike/ - "Plusnet stopped offering the line rental saver option on Monday (22 February)" - If you've already paid for a year's line rental upfront and are midway through that period, there'll be no change until the year's up"TL;DR - shouldn't affect you and all it means is you can't get another Youview deal when what you have now ends. It will go entirely by next summer when the last of the 18 month deals run out.0

Usually TV is an add on ,you need to check T&C .Probably does not give you the right to get out of the core services under Ofcom Rules .0
