Hi have had a letter delivered to an old address for a parking ticket ( I know the people who live there) I have had a couple of adresses since.
It is for a parking charge on 12/07/2015. I have never seen the corespondence before and I get the dont pay issue and also the fact the 6 years is nearly up for the courts. Should we return not know at this address? I no longer have the car either, that may delay them a bit or ignore and start prepping incase they decide to do a court claim??
It was parking in a permit area 5 1/2 years ago could have been one of many driversit was a company registered car so I could have been delivering or viewing potential properties. No idea why else I would have been there?
I have looked at the newbies bit and will prep for the next steps but advice greatly received.
Stay safe and well folks.

If it was a company registered car, what name was on the V5C as registered keeper? What letter have you now had delivered? Is it addressed to you as RK?6

Are they claiming interest? This is far too old, complain to your MPYou never know how far you can go until you go too far.1

you will find that if you do not reply the company will issue a cc claim at old address and you get a default ccj
couple of things here , which dcb(L) dcbl debt collectors or DCBL legal , whats the gist of the letter , does it say reply in TWENTY EIGHT days , or a silly 7 or 14 to reply
stall time you need to contact BOTH the parking co and dcb ,,,,,,,,whatever and inform them of your new address , do this NOW , the dpo of parking co, look it up
then you can work foward , as you surmise a case has to be started within 6 yrs (england and wales) , however the parking co or legal bids must give you 28 days letter before action , others might want to add ,stalling by asking for more info or seaking debt help , anything to get you to 12/06 , which is when they would do the 28 day wonder ,
who is the parking company2 -

Not your name on V5C if it was a company vehicle , you would not have a V5C in your name
Company vehicle is lease or hire , so you are either a lessee or hirer
It's a debt collector letter , not an LBC , read the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum , don't reply to this letter2 -
TBH our MP is as much use as a chocolate fireguard and I can guarantee no help whatsoever. I have tried before on other matters and often dont even get a reply.D_P_Dance said:Are they claiming interest? This is far too old, complain to your MP

ok , its the debt collectors ,(14 days) they need to be slowed down , not normal to corispond with debt collectors , but you are wasting time , whilst they have the ball its not going to court,, you need to start asking them questions , more info , crack on you know nothing , "do you have pictures " what sort of car " up to you about the address , but again its time wasteing3

Was a company car and my name was the registered keeper, as a V5c always says not necessarily the legal owner.Redx said:Not your name on V5C if it was a company vehicle , you would not have a V5C in your name
