Could you please advise whether there is anyway to find out what steps to be taken next or get some status update on the process?
Many thanks0 -
Didn't the CCBC send you a letter saying they would forward you Defence to the Claimant and they have twenty eight days to respond?
What you don't know is when the CCBC sent a copy of your Defence to the Claimant. It follows from that that it is not known when the Claimant has to respond to the CCBC.Further, we don't know what delays there are in the CCBC that means they don't send you a DQ as promptly as you might like. Can I suggest that you keep checking your MCOL Claim History and as soon as you see that the CCBC has sent a DQ to you, you are ready to download a DQ, complete it and fire it back to the CCBC, remembering to send a copy to the Claimant of course.3 -

Email is normally used since covid19 struck last year
Use the ccbcaq email address for the digital DQ one to the CCBC , the second email ( or CC them into the first email ) goes either to the claimant or their lawyers , as detailed in the claim form your friend received. Post is rarely used2 -

(Removed by Forum Team)Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Post is rarely usedCan I please confirm the following three points in respect of the digital DQ?
For page 1 top left corner of the form, my friend needs to cross out 2nd and 3rd due to them being the 1st Defendant and also add their name in the box which says "To be completed by, or on behalf of"
For page 3 signature box, again the same - 1st Defendant?
Once completed, they will sign the form, scan it and email to CCBC and lawyers as per the above advice retaining a copy for themselves?
Apologies, it might appear repetitive however not being from a legal background I cant stress the importance of filling out forms correctly. Thanks in advance.0 -
Apologies, it might appear repetitive however not being from a legal background I cant stress the importance of filling out forms correctly. Thanks in advance.Neither is 95% of the forum from a legal background either. I've never filled in a DQ, but I'd fill that in on the basis that if there are no other Defendants, then obviously there is only one person to fill this in and be named.Electronic submission is perfectly acceptable in these pandemic times. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
