Seller is refusing to refund me for an item I returned to them 30 days after ordering it. What Now?

Why would EBay be worried about a seller communicating with a buyer after a sale that was completed and paid for on eBay ? The only time EBay don’t want communication is where a seller or buyer wants to take a sale ‘off’ EBay.MR1988 said:CLEARANCE_FEE said:
Will they not care that the seller sent me a message via email instead of eBay's messaging system?MR1988 said:eBay won't do anything about it. You did not follow their process for returning an item plus it wen't over the 30 days Money Back Guarantee period. Your best bet is PayPal at this time. You could report the seller to eBay for taking communication outside of the eBay platform but I doubt they will do anything about it to be honest with you. It would require multiple reports against them until they would probably look into it.I've reported a seller before for sending me very rude and aggressive messages through the eBay messaging system and eBay has not done anything about it.Plus you mentioned that you messaged the seller to send back the item after the 30 days have passed so seller could probably justify that a return was not posible to be opened and that's why they sent you return details through email. I would just recommend you to go through PayPal and upload all evidence of this whole deal including communication between you and seller from eBay and email + tracking number showing the item has been delivered. You have 6 months wiht PayPal to get your money back so get things moving ASAP.
OP, it is far too late for EBay to be interested, it’s a shame you didn’t open a proper return through eBay as this wouldn’t have arisen. However you can still try PayPal, make sure you keep hold of your online proof of delivery as you will need that to prove seller has it back.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I've tried to open a case with PayPal and I'm not sure what to pick. It not a "not as described" or "not received" case. What should I tell PayPal?

This is the tricky bit, it definitely isn’t an INR but neither is it the not as described option either, and PayPal don’t really do change of mind returns. All you can really do is open an SNAD abut explain that seller agreed to refund on return, provide proof of that agreement and proof of delivery back to seller and keep your fingers crossed.CLEARANCE_FEE said:I've tried to open a case with PayPal and I'm not sure what to pick. @soolin True, I just assumed any communication regarding an item would fall under same rules and policies.@CLEARANCE_FEE You could also call PayPal directly and explain the whole situation to them and have them open the case on your behalf. They respond to phone inquiries quite quickly.0
