Blocked bank account

Hi,
I started a discussion a few weeks ago however I can no longer find the thread. On the 16th February 2021 my bank account was frozen. I was only made aware of this when I saw my card had been disabled from apple pay and then when I opened my online banking a message saying my access had been blocked. The evening before this my nan sent me a payment of £700 this money never hit my bank account and the bank advised my nan they would need to carry out further security checks on the payment and within less than 14 hours my bank account was blocked. I phoned the bank who weren't very helpful ( I know they are legally not allowed to tell you the reason why they have blocked an account but its been 20 working days, I was initially told 10 working days then it was 15 working days. I understand banks have to do this if they suspect dodgy transactions etc but giving a time scale and then not meeting that time scale is surely not acceptable? I have in been in contact with a lady from the complaints team who has been the most helpful. She is unable to gain any information as to why this has happened as the fraud team are not giving her any information but she has submitted a complaint for me as she even stated that this is now unfair. Whilst this is ongoing I am unable to gain another bank account. I would really understand if I was aware of what the problem is but I really have no clue. I have had that account since 2019, my wages get paid in, I get the odd bit of money from my mum for petrol and I would do the odd transfer from my paypal account after an ebay sale etc.
I don't think it is an item I have sold as I have had no contact from anyone and I just find it weird this happened after my nan tried to make a payment to me. The bank told my nan the bank cancelled the payment after they were unable to reach her to authorise it was her making the payment. I am really unsure what the problem is - I know its only a bank account but I can't help but worry about it, even more now I can't get another bank account! The bank have also put an extra care marker on my account due to mental health so I am unsure if this would also slow the process down as they have a duty of care.
Has this happened to anyone else? I could really do with some reassurance.
Best wishes, Georgia

I don't have an overdraft on the account so I don't owe the bank any money etc.
I have seen a lot happening to Natwest customers but rarely Barclays. It is a worrying time0 -

So I have just phoned the bank - they have sent me a letter to advise my account was closed, no notice given and no information given. They told me the letter just states to refer to the terms and conditions! absolutely ridiculous!!! This account was pristine. I am beyond angry.0
